Co-designing Knowledge Together: FEDORAS Italian Hub Launch Meeting

At the launch meeting of the Italian hub of FEDORAS Teacher Academy on September 19, 2025, we chose to give space to a voice capable of inspiring and opening new perspectives: that of Angela Morelli, CEO of InfoDesignLab, project partner of FEDORAS.

Her talk was much more than a presentation. It was an invitation to look at the very heart of the design of information as fertile ground where rigor and creativity not only coexist but enhance each other — a call that seems increasingly urgent in the world of education as well. Through data visualization, Morelli showed us how numbers can be transformed into a living language, into narrative, into images and colors that spark imagination and amplify our capacity to feel and to connect.

Communication thus becomes synergy, and the foundations are laid for one of the project’s key concepts: co-design. Co-design means, in fact, bringing together diverse skills and sensitivities in dialogue, creating shared solutions that reflect the richness of everyone’s contributions.

In this first virtual space we all embraced the great challenge ahead: to reimagine school and knowledge as a collective process of co-creation. It is no longer enough to transmit information; we need to generate visions, open dialogues, and build shared maps of meaning that help students, teachers, and citizens orient themselves in the complex landscapes of the present and the future.

The participants’ reactions were unanimously positive and forward-looking, a clear sign that this direction — bringing together rigor and creativity, knowledge and design — can truly become a horizon for rethinking education and the future landscapes of knowledge.

A meeting that left us all with a profound conviction: for science to be truly transformative, it must learn to become relationship, image, and shared story.
